Abstract

The provision of supplementary food (PMT) is essential for young children to prevent malnutrition or stunting, which are two interrelated issues. Stunting in children results from nutrient deficiencies during the first thousand days of life. This leads to physical development disruptions, causing a decline in cognitive and motor skills, as well as unstable weight and height. A solution to avoid stunting isthe provision of supplementary food(PMT) in the form of green bean porridge, given to toddlers or young children twice a month for one month or more.

This study uses a qualitative research method with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document studies. The research procedure involves extensive data collection from various sources to obtain detailed and in-depth information regarding the effectiveness of the green bean porridge supplementary food program at Paud Al-Husna Bogor.

he results of this study show that before the PMT green bean porridge program, the average nutritional status was -1.2190 SD, and after the intervention, it improved to -1.1190 SD. From the intervention conducted by providing green bean porridge twice a month, there were noticeable changes in weight and height among the children. Out of 20 children who received thePMT, 17 experienced weightgain, while3 showed no changein weightorheight but were still assessed as free from stunting according to the KMS monitoring book.

In conclusion, the supplementary food program (PMT) with green bean porridge can improve the nutritional status of children and help prevent stunting at Paud Al-Husna. It is hoped that this research can serve as a method to enhance the health and nutrition status of children through PMT with green bean porridge.
